Property Manager, Crouch End

The main purpose of this role is to upkeep their residential letting’s properties guaranteeing a superior level of guest and owner satisfaction. You will be accountable for a portfolio of properties in Crouch End, guaranteeing all aspects of property management are completed. As a member of a vibrant, cohesive team, you will also be involved in other aspects of the business, including taking incoming sales and lettings calls, and booking viewings and valuations for sale and lettings. They also have a expanding short let aspect to the business which will fall under your responsibility.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the running, upkeep and maintenance of the property on the behalf of the landlord

  • Assess and settle maintenance issues, liaising with suitable contractors

  • Oversee property inspections and carry out appropriate reports liaising with the landlord giving relevant guidance

  • Certifying the property is fully prepared for occupancy – combining gas safety record, electrical safety, keys, pre-tenancy clean, verifying all appliances and any pre-requisites

  • Interacting with tenants and contractors for property access

  • Handle end of tenancy returns for a managed client portfolio

  • Guarantee deposit returns are managed within company timescales and any issues between parties resolved?

  • Confirm invoices received against works orders and arrange payment to contractors

  • Retain high standards of communication with landlords and tenants

  • Discuss dilapidation compensation for the landlords of a managed client portfolio

  • Ensuring the property is continuing to be legally compliant and is being looked after by the tenant

  • Embark On any general administration tasks that may be required

  • Building excellent relationships with landlords, tenants and contractors

  • Work closely with the accounts department in managing rent arrears

Skills, Abilities & Personal Characteristics

  • Ability to handle difficult situations in a professional and empathetic manner

  • Fantastic problem solving and organisation skills

  • Great time and diary management

  • Knowledge of the industry; basic knowledge of heating and hot water systems, plumbing and electrical systems

  • Knowledge of legislation changes and health & safety compliance as essential

  • Previous experience as a Property Manager is essential

  • Excellent verbal communication skills both by telephone and face to face

  • Able to communicate accurately and concisely using written communication

  • Confident telephone manner

  • Good personal presentation and conduct

  • Good IT skills and knowledge of MS Office

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Strong negotiation and active listening skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritise own workload

  • Ability to build effective relationships by using diplomacy and tact


  • Full Time

  • Monday to Friday: 08.45 – 18.00

  • Saturday: 10.00 – 16.00 (1 in 4 Saturdays)

  • £26,000 - £32,000 P/A

  • You’ll need your own car. Free parking opposite office.
